250TH HEXHAM ANTIQUES FAIR

Well, it’s hard to believe…20 years on and 250 consecutive months at Hexham on a Tuesday! Yes, in February 2012 the Antiques Fair in Wentworth Leisure Centre will celebrate its 250th Fair and not one month missed. There may have been a few close shaves over the years with floods, power cuts, fire alarms and a massive redevelopment of the site, however, the show went on thanks to the commitment of North Country Leisure, public support and most of all YOU…..the exhibitors, who have driven from all parts of England, Scotland and France to establish this Fair as one of the most successful in the UK. In 1991 there were just 45 stands, alternating between two halls depending on the sports programme. Now 20 years later the Fair is usually full with a regular 135 stands taken. We all look forward to the next decade being just as successful!

EVERYTHING THE ELEMENTS COULD THROW AT US AND YET AGAIN…NOT ONE FAIR CANCELLED!

Who could have predicted the worst winter weather since 1963 and the consequences?

All Fairs fully booked and a terrific run into Christmas for all…so we thought!

Kendal, Durham and Hexham all fully booked, well in advance and then it snowed and snowed and snowed…...

For the CCE equipment and trailer, what would normally be an early start on Sunday for our journey west to Kendal, fast became a Saturday afternoon dash and check in to the Travel Lodge to make sure that the Fair could go ahead as planned on the 28th November.

It did. The reward for CCE was the many thanks for keeping the Fair on and to see those who had been able to attend do so well. A terrific effort all round.

Now, having bounced back with a very successful Boxing Day Fair at Newcastle Airport we reach a New Year with a full house at Gateshead Stadium.

All of us at CCE wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year and thank you once again for your support throughout the last twelve months.

2011 PRICE REVIEW

Long standing exhibitors will be aware that CCE have always attempted to absorb increasing costs for 24 months and then introduce a small increase of prices. This year the increase has been deferred for an extra 2 months until the 1st March and a decision has been taken NOT to increase any visitor admission costs in the foreseeable future, thus continuing our policy of being the best value Fairs amongst all of our competitors throughout the UK.

Thus from 1st March 2011 exhibitor stand prices will be as follows;

6’ table or space @ £32
9’ table or space @ £ 40
12’ table or space @ £ 50
18’ table or space @ £ 60

All costs include tables, chairs and power supply for table lighting
